Junior Crocheter
Syllabus
By the end of the course, students will:
- Use a crochet hook comfortably and with control
- Complete beginner and intermediate crochet projects
- Read and follow basic patterns
- Build 3D forms and structured pieces
- Work with multiple stitches and techniques
- Develop patience and focus through consistent practice
- Leave with a complete set of crochet work they created themselves
This course is open to all students aged 8–16.
To join, students must:
- Meet the minimum age requirement
- Commit to the full 3‑month learning path
- Have basic fluency in spoken English
- Be patient, attentive, and willing to complete each project
Crochet foundations and mini projects
Students begin with the basics—learning how to hold the hook, form neat stitches, and understand how to build simple shapes.
What they’ll learn
- Yarn types and hook sizes
- Basic crochet stitches: chain, sc, hdc, dc, tr
- Stitch direction and control
- Front loop and back loop techniques
- Magic ring and round formation
- How to read written and symbol patterns
Mini projects
- Bow keychain
- Simple coaster
- Scrunchie
- Crochet flower (tulip or rose)
Pattern shaping and amigurumi
Students learn how to create structured forms and follow multi-step patterns while making their first soft 3D character.
What they’ll learn
- Increases and decreases
- Working in rounds
- Building shape with structure
- Stuffing and securing parts
- Pattern accuracy and counting
Project
- Mini bag
- Amigurumi (Choose: bear, bee, mushroom, duck or octopus)
- Optional: wristband, textured square
Extended crochet projects
This final month focuses on applying all techniques in 2–3 larger creative projects. Students plan, measure, and assemble bigger items with confidence.

Yes. We partner with PayLater, which allows eligible families to split the course fee into four equal payments. Please speak with our course advisor if you would like support with the installment process.
We understand that schedules can change. coursesindoha offers up to two free cover-up sessions with other active groups, based on mentor and studio availability.
Additional cover-up sessions are 300 QAR each.
Nothing is required. All tools and materials needed for the course are provided by coursesindoha. Everything is beginner-friendly and suitable for building strong skills.
Yes. A coursesindoha certificate is issued after successful completion of the course. Your child must attend at least 90% of sessions and complete all required projects. To request a certificate, please email us at members@coursesindoha.com.
coursesindoha does not offer refunds, cancellations, or course transfers. Our junior courses run in limited annual batches, which makes it difficult to replace students once a seat is confirmed. Please ensure your child can commit to the schedule before enrolling.
Yes. You may freeze the course for up to three months. Please email members@coursesindoha.com before the next session to request a freeze. All freeze approvals depend on available spaces in future batches.
