The Fashion Foundation Accelerator is a comprehensive learning path for adults who wish to build real skills in garment construction, design thinking, and pattern making.
Designed for beginners and progressing makers, this two-level program offers a focused, practice-based approach — starting from essential sewing skills and moving towards developing original garments and a personal portfolio.
Syllabus
8-week structured program for complete beginners
This program introduces members to the fundamentals of sewing, garment construction without paper patterns, and early design skills.
Members will complete two to three wearable garments and develop a foundation design board.
Key learning outcomes
- Operate a sewing machine and sew independently
- Cut, assemble, and finish beginner garments using pattern-less techniques
- Understand fabric types, grainline, and basic construction logic
- Build a visual moodboard and apply color theory
- Sketch simple design ideas using proportions and croquis
- Explore basic draping and layout on a dress form
Projects completed
- 2–3 beginner garments (e.g., tunic, skirt, wrap dress)
- Moodboard and color palette
- 2–3 fashion sketches
- Draped sample
- Final design board
16-week advanced program for intermediate learners
This program equips members with core pattern making knowledge and construction techniques for a range of garments.
It includes both guided technical projects and independent work, culminating in a complete portfolio with original design pieces.
Key learning outcomes
- Draft and modify foundational blocks
- Construct garments using proper sequencing and finishes
- Develop fit awareness and technical accuracy
- Execute original garments from design to finish
- Document work through technical notes and visual presentation
Projects completed
- 5–6 guided garments, including:
- A-line dress, pleated skirt, abaya/jalabiya, kids frock, pajama pants, fit and flare dress or layered maxi
- 1–2 original design projects from concept to construction
- Final portfolio presentation board

Yes. We partner with PayLater, which allows eligible families to split the course fee into four equal payments. Please speak with our course advisor if you would like support with the installment process.
We understand that schedules can change. coursesindoha offers up to two free cover-up sessions with other active groups, based on mentor and studio availability.
Additional cover-up sessions are 300 QAR each.
Nothing is required. All tools and materials needed for the course are provided by coursesindoha. Everything is beginner-friendly and suitable for building strong skills.
Yes. A coursesindoha certificate is issued after successful completion of the course. Your child must attend at least 90% of sessions and complete all required projects. To request a certificate, please email us at members@coursesindoha.com.
coursesindoha does not offer refunds, cancellations, or course transfers. Our junior courses run in limited annual batches, which makes it difficult to replace students once a seat is confirmed. Please ensure your child can commit to the schedule before enrolling.
Yes. You may freeze the course for up to three months. Please email members@coursesindoha.com before the next session to request a freeze. All freeze approvals depend on available spaces in future batches.
